Carla Zambelli becomes an international fugitive after STF decision and social media block

Meta, the company responsible for the Facebook and Instagram platforms, confirmed on Wednesday (4) that it had blocked the profiles of federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP), in compliance with the order of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). The measure is part of the actions taken after the parliamentarian had her preventive detention ordered. Sentenced by the STF to 10 years in prison for involvement in the hacking of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) systems, Zambelli left Brazil at the end of May. According to information gathered, she crossed the border into Argentina without immigration records and, from Buenos Aires, embarked for the United States. In a note, she stated that her final destination is Europe. In a statement sent to the STF, Meta declared that it had fully complied with the decision, which included blocking the parliamentarian's accounts, preserving the content and providing her registration data. Ukraine Launches Surprise Drone Attack, Turning the Tables of War with Russia

On June 1, 2025, Ukraine carried out one of the most audacious military operations since the beginning of the conflict with Russia. Dubbed “Operation Telaraña,” the offensive involved the coordinated launch of 117 kamikaze drones against five Russian air bases, including strategic locations in Siberia. The operation resulted in the destruction of at least 41 aircraft, including Tu-95 and Tu-22M strategic bombers, as well as a rare A-50 control plane.  The success of the operation was not limited to the physical destruction of Russian military assets. It exposed significant vulnerabilities in Russia’s air defenses and demonstrated Ukraine’s ability to deliver long-range strikes with surgical precision. Analysts have compared the psychological and strategic impact of the offensive to the attack on Pearl Harbor, highlighting the surprise and effectiveness of the Ukrainian action.  The execution of Operation Telaraña involved months of planning and technological innovation. ...

Putin Wants Peace? Russia Proposes Ceasefire, Meeting with Zelensky Gains Momentum

During a new round of negotiations held on Monday (2) in Istanbul, Russia handed over to the Ukrainian delegation a memorandum with the terms demanded by Moscow for a complete ceasefire. The information was disclosed by Vladimir Medinsky, Kremlin advisor and head of the Russian negotiating team. According to Medinsky, among the proposals discussed, one of them foresees a temporary truce of two to three days in certain conflict areas. The Russian news agency RIA detailed that two main suggestions were presented for the suspension of the fighting. The first alternative requires that Ukrainian forces completely leave four regions that Moscow claims as part of its territory. The second proposal is linked to a broader agreement, which would include a series of conditions previously defined by the Russians. The Ukrainian delegation confirmed receipt of the document, but stated that there was not yet enough time for a full analysis of its content. "Until now, we have not received any f...

Brazil surprises and leads global growth: GDP rises more than the US, G7 and European Union in the 1st quarter

Brazil is emerging as one of the economies with the best performance at the beginning of 2025. According to data released this Friday (30) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Brazil's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew 1.4% in the first quarter of the year, compared to the last three months of 2024. The result was driven mainly by the strength of agribusiness and puts the country ahead of all nations in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the European Union and even the G7 — a group that brings together the seven largest global economies. According to the OECD, the average growth of member countries was just 0.1% in the same period, well below the 0.5% recorded in the fourth quarter of last year. The G7's performance was also disappointing: growth fell from 0.4% to 0.1% between the two quarters. The eurozone and the European Union each grew by 0.3% in the first three months of the year. In total, 17 OECD countries report...

Bill de Blasio criticizes US proposal to classify Brazilian factions as terrorists

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio expressed concern about the United States' attempt to include Brazilian criminal groups, such as Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC) and Comando Vermelho (CV), on the list of terrorist organizations. He believes that this proposal could be misused for political purposes. During the 2nd International Seminar on Public Security, Human Rights and Democracy, held in São Paulo, Blasio warned of the risks of this classification, especially if it is adopted in a context of external political interests. The event, organized by the Institute for the Reform of State-Business Relations (IREE) and the IDP, brought together authorities, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society. Blasio stressed that Latin American countries are right to be concerned about US interference in internal affairs. According to him, there is a risk that legitimate legal tools could end up being distorted to serve political objectives. “If anyone thinks that this typ...
